For Maputo, the National Statistics Institute (INE) is recruiting an individual consultant for data analysis of the Annual Business Survey (IAE) — reference MZ-INE-564107-CS-INDV.
The INE is hiring, under the special regime for individual consultants, a specialist in IAE data analysis. The position sits within the SADC Regional Statistics Project (PRESADC), implemented with a grant from the International Development Association (IDA), the World Bank's institution for Mozambique.
One of the workstreams is the improvement of the National Accounts, which gives the role a scope that goes beyond the survey itself. The work aligns with the 2008 System of National Accounts, and the contract lasts 7 weeks, counted from the date the contract is signed.
We are looking for someone who enjoys rigorous work, who can keep the focus over weeks on a large dataset, and who is at ease explaining complex results to people from other fields.
The role is analytical and is carried out in Maputo. The value of what you do is measured in the final product of the National Accounts.
If you have a track record in consulting or in official data analysis, this position gives you direct contact with a SADC regional statistics project — an experience that strengthens your path in the public sector and in the international bodies that hire consultants in this area in Mozambique.
You will work inside the official statistics cycle: from the data collected with businesses to its use in the National Accounts, in a project with international funding. It is direct exposure to macroeconomic data and to official statistics practice in Mozambique.
