Driver and Administrative Assistant — Servcred Microbanco (Maputo)

About the role

Servcred Microbanco is looking for someone in Maputo who does two things well: drives the institution's vehicle safely and keeps document circulation and records strictly up to date. It is a single position with two complementary halves — on the road and at the desk.

The reason this role exists is simple: in a microbank, paperwork cannot wait. Applications, contracts and declarations pass every day between commercial banks, public services, clients and suppliers. Each of these documents must arrive on equipa, go out and return with a receipt, and be logged. That is what you will ensure. When there are no trips to make, your place is alongside the administrative team, keeping the office running.

For those unfamiliar with the term: a microbank is a financial institution smaller than a commercial bank, primarily dedicated to loans for families and small businesses. In practice, this means a lot of paperwork moving between the institution and official counterparties — and that is where you come in.

What your day will look like

On the road:

• Deliver and collect documents from banks, public services and partner institutions on behalf of all departments.
• Occasionally transport colleagues on business trips, within the rules of company vehicle use.
• Keep the vehicle in good order: basic checks before driving, immediate reporting of any required repairs, regular cleaning and ensuring everything is road-ready.

In the office, during non-travel periods:

• File, scan and organise paper and digital records.
• Maintain tracking of all incoming and outgoing items: every submitted or received document is recorded, and departments check this log to track the status of each file.
• Handle company correspondence, deliveries and collections without delay.
• Greet visitors and answer calls when required.
• Prepare copies and prints of documents to be submitted.
• Support office procurement: collect quotes, pick up supplies.
• Assist with small administrative tasks assigned by the supervisor so that no part of the day goes idle.

Who fits this role

This position is suited to someone who enjoys an active day: one part of the job involves travelling and liaising with institutions, while the other requires desk-based composure. It is the alternation between the two that makes it interesting.
