Facilities Support Officer — CICV (Pemba, Cabo Delgado)

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has a Sub-delegation in Pemba, in the north of the country, Cabo Delgado. This position is based at this sub-delegation.

What you will do

The role covers property and asset management for the sub-delegation — from finding spaces to keeping everything running smoothly. On a day-to-day basis, your responsibilities include:

• Map accommodation and workspace needs and search for suitable premises;
• Monitor the local real estate market — prices and new opportunities — and propose action;
• Negotiate rent and contract clauses with landlords;
• Manage lease agreements and their lifecycle: renewals, payments, documentation, and archiving;
• Coordinate handover and return of premises, including check-in and check-out inventories;
• Keep the inventory of furniture, assets, maintenance supplies, and administrative stock updated;
• Plan and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance, supervising external service providers;
• Assess passive premises security together with the Security team;
• Manage relationships with landlords, real estate agencies, and suppliers;
• Control premises budgets and costs, supervising cleaning and maintenance teams;
• Support staff movements, accommodation, airport transfers, and travel when the Welcome Officer is absent.

Who they are looking for

The ICRC requires a degree in Administration, Management, or a related field and at least 3 years of experience in administrative and support roles. Previous experience with a non-governmental organization is an asset, not a requirement.

Also required: organization and rigor in documentation; ability to handle funds and banking operations with responsibility and transparency; user-level Microsoft Office; discretion, integrity, and autonomy. English is mandatory.
