General Medicine Technician (Tuberculosis) — CONTACT (Matola)

The essentials: General Medicine Technician for Tuberculosis in Matola (Maputo Province), one vacancy, applications until October 27, 2026 — apply on the employer's official website.

About the vacancy

CONTACT is recruiting, for a client of theirs, a General Medicine Technician focusing on Tuberculosis for a health facility in Matola. The final employer is not identified. The advertisement does not indicate the type of contract or schedule, so confirm both before applying.

The work begins where transmission is cut: finding TB cases, linking them to care, and ensuring treatment finishes well. You will also work on the HIV side, because in practice the two programs go together — screening, HIV testing, ART, and TB/HIV linkage.

The role requires fieldwork and a cool head with numbers: you will monitor patients for months and, at the same time, read program indicators to understand where the gaps are.

What you will do day-to-day

• Perform TB and HIV screening and diagnosis, creating demand in triage consultations, MCH and C&T.
• Provide care and treatment for HIV and TB, in coordination with the SDSMAS technical team.
• Support the improvement of the health facility's performance in care and treatment services: HIV counseling and testing, TB screening, adult ART, and TB/HIV linkage activities.
• Help maintain TB infection control within health facilities.
• Identify and refer to health facilities those who have had contact with a TB case and physically take children to the ARCC, for TPT.
• Monitor the treatment quality of those with TB: CTX prophylaxis, Pyridoxine, ART, and clinical-laboratory results.
• Support providers in analyzing patient flow, improving adherence support systems, and referral systems.
• Prepare technical reports requested by the program when necessary.
• Read C&T and TB program indicators and use them to target priority interventions.
• Participate in district clinical evaluation and patient follow-up committees, alongside SDMAS.

What we look for in you

This vacancy is for those already in the clinical field who want to work with numbers and people at the same time. You will need patience to monitor patients for months and discipline to record everything you do — from tracked contacts to missing treatment cases.

You work well in a team with nurses, community agents, and district teams, and maintain discretion over patient data. If you live in Matola, you know your way around the health facilities, and that counts in your favor. The work vehicle is the relationship of trust with providers: without this, no rule leaves the paper.

What the company offers

• Remuneration compatible with the role, indicates the advertisement.
• Integration into a health structure with active HIV and TB programs in Matola.
• Joint work with the technical teams of SDSMAS.

Salary: to be agreed with the company — values were not disclosed.
