What you will do

This is field work more than desk work. In the field, you prepare the area, set up tests, and record readings step-by-step. In the office, you interpret the results and write technical reports that the team and the client use to make decisions.

• Conduct soil studies: prepare the area, set up tests, and record readings;
• Perform percolation tests and soil characterization, following the methodology defined for each project;
• Assess water table behavior over time and in relation to local conditions;
• Interpret results and prepare clear, actionable technical reports for the team;
• Travel to project sites nationwide — the role requires field presence and is not limited to Maputo.

This role connects the ground to paper: what the soil and groundwater reveal reaches the consultancy's designs and decisions through your work.

Role context

In a geological, geotechnical, or hydrogeological study, every test is a piece of information that weighs on the decision: whether a foundation holds, whether a water intake works or not. The reading of these tests confirms whether the ground supports the designed structure or requires project adjustments.

A report only has value when it reaches designers and decision-makers in a clear, readable format. Therefore, organization and team communication are a real part of the job — not just a paper requirement.

Conditions

• Position in a Mozambican consultancy, based in Maputo with nationwide travel;
