Ayuda en Acción is looking for a Humanitarian Aid Coordinator to lead, from Pemba, the organisation's humanitarian response and early recovery in Mozambique — focusing on the province of Cabo Delgado. The person in this role will coordinate how aid reaches crisis-affected families in the north of the country and take full accountability for it on the ground.
This is leadership in a complex context: security under constant watch, frequent travel within the province, and various stakeholders with whom you must speak the same language, literally and figuratively. If you have coordinated humanitarian responses in challenging environments before, you know exactly what this entails. If this is the job you are looking for, read to the end and apply without waiting until the deadline.
The job advert organises the mission into four key pillars. Day to day, this translates into:
This is not a desk-bound job: the advert calls for regular presence in the field across Cabo Delgado and travel throughout the country. Effective coordination is built alongside teams and partners on the ground.
Someone who leads a humanitarian response well in Cabo Delgado keeps a cool head when the context changes overnight, makes decisions with incomplete information, and never loses sight of the people behind the indicators. They coordinate teams closely — providing technical guidance, training, and timely corrections — and know how to negotiate with a donor on Monday and a local authority on Tuesday.
The multilingual requirement in the advert is not decorative: each language opens a different door. Those who have worked on internationally funded responses also know the weight of documentation: accountability reports, evidence, deadlines. If balancing field operations, people management, and paperwork is already part of your career, you will fit right in.
Ayuda en Acción is an international organisation of Spanish origin that creates future opportunities for children and youth, supporting the most vulnerable people in accessing education and transitioning to employment. It works in 18 countries, and in the past year, around 211,000 people were assisted by its humanitarian crisis responses. It is active in Mozambique — where it has called for support for families affected by the crisis — and is a member of Alliance2015, the European alliance of development NGOs. Its workstream on human mobility, providing comprehensive support to displaced persons, is directly relevant to the context of Cabo Delgado.
The advert does not publish a salary or benefits package — and Inademy does not publish figures that are not confirmed by the source. What is certain, straight from the advert itself:
Applications must be submitted by email, directly to Ayuda en Acción:
Before sending, it is worth taking two steps: review the guide on how to write a CV in Mozambique to organise your experience, and read how to write a cover letter — for a coordination role, a direct, concise cover letter carries more weight than it seems. And remember the golden rule: never pay for a job application. Legitimate recruitment never charges candidates — be wary of anyone asking for money to secure a position.
This application goes directly to Ayuda en Acción — their team reviews CVs and makes decisions at every step, not Inademy. What we offer you here: a free profile to keep your CV organised and ready for upcoming opportunities, and job alerts via email and WhatsApp — ensuring you do not miss out on the next role in NGOs, humanitarian work, or development.
Note on standards: Sphere is the international manual setting minimum standards for humanitarian response (shelter, water, health, food); the CHS (Core Humanitarian Standard) is the quality and accountability standard for humanitarian organisations towards the people they serve. They form the common vocabulary of internationally funded responses — and are usually verified during interviews. Arrive at your application with your last three positions documented and your criminal record check sorted: the job posting requires both.
