Merchandise Clearance Agent — AGL (Cabo Delgado)

About the role

AGL — África Global Logistics Moçambique, S.A. — is an international logistics company: it brokers cargo, operates ships and manages freight and chartering. It is now recruiting, for the CHEGAR Project, four merchandise clearance agents — an operation to distribute pharmaceuticals to warehouses and health facilities across Mozambique.

Merchandise clearance is the final step of the chain: ensuring the cargo reaches its destination, passes through controls and is registered accurately. This is where the clearance agent makes the difference: without the right record and signature, the goods arrive but the system does not recognise them.

The four posts are based in Cabo Delgado province, specifically in the districts of Balama, Chiúre, Namuno and Mecúfi, alongside the health facilities where the deliveries take place.

What you will do day to day

These posts handle the final delivery of the cargo to its destination, on firm deadlines.

• Carry out transport and deliveries, updating delivery documentation at each step;
• Obtain proof-of-delivery signatures (POD), manual or electronic, at warehouses and health facilities;
• Load and unload the truck, ensuring tracking and cargo integrity;
• Forward the information needed to issue delivery notes;
• Work in the transport management system (Intouch Carlo): validate vehicles and record the quantities and volumes per product, as well as the time of each step;
• Make sure pharmaceutical deliveries arrive on time and in the correct quantities;
• Apply health, safety and environment (HSE) requirements and AGL's best practices to the carriers — with safety as the top priority, adherence to the code of conduct and professional ethics.

Who we are looking for

This is a responsible, hands-on, detail-focused job: a delivery made on time prevents an entire medicines supply chain from failing. We are looking for someone grounded, used to field logistics in the north of the country.

We value people who handle paperwork and records rigorously and respect safety and professional-ethics rules. Whoever already knows the area they will work in gets up to speed faster.

You will join a health logistics operation where every pharmaceutical delivery has a direct impact on community health. The role strengthens your experience in transport management, delivery documentation and compliance with safety standards.

These posts work closely with carriers and with the destination health facilities and warehouses — a real health-logistics context.
