Joaquim Chissano University (UJC), a public higher education institution with a campus in Maputo, has opened a call for applications to recruit part-equipa teaching staff for the 2026/2031 period. The vacancies are for the careers of University Lecturer and Assistant Lecturer.
The positions are part-equipa during working hours — an entry point into public higher education while maintaining another occupation.
The call for applications is based on the Dispatch of 14 August 2026 of the Vice-Chancellor of UJC — under paragraph 6 of Article 23 of REGFAE and Article 11 of Decree No. 67/2025. Applications must be submitted in person at the Secretariat-General (there is no online form), and the deadline is fifteen days from the publication date of the notice.
A part-equipa university lecturer combines classroom teaching with scientific research:
The announcement does not specify the number of modules or weekly hours: it confirms part-equipa working hours throughout the 2026/2031 period.
The UJC campus is located in Zimpeto, Maputo City — an academic environment with students from various fields and colleagues balancing teaching and research. You will work with experienced lecturers and students at the start of their journey: the role calls for patience, rigour and a sense of responsibility.
Teaching at this level is also an opportunity for growth: every class encourages you to review your knowledge and stay up to date with research in your field.
We are looking for people who enjoy teaching: who explain clearly, listen to queries and treat every student with respect. Those who have already taught or conducted research know what this requires, and that experience carries weight in the selection process.
If you work conscientiously, meet deadlines and collaborate effectively with colleagues, this is the right environment. The subject areas and formal conditions are listed in the requirements section — confirm your field before preparing your documents.
The notice does not state the salary: compensation is defined by UJC as part of the appointment process.
Selection processes like this depend on one key action: delivering your documents to the right place on equipa. With only fifteen days available, organising your application dossier makes all the difference.
