MCC Mozambique is looking for a Program Officer — Education and Peacebuilding (including gender mainstreaming) for its office in Beira, with 30–40% of the equipa spent travelling to intervention areas. It is a full-equipa position (FTE 1.0) with a gross monthly salary of MZN 82,225.06, published openly in the announcement — a level of transparency you do not always find.
The role is to walk alongside the partner organisations that implement MCC-funded projects: planning, design and implementation of activities, monitoring and evaluation, and narrative and financial reporting. You work in close contact with the program team, the Admin & Finance team and the Country Representative — and you are the organisation's eyes in the field.
This is a position for someone who has walked the full cycle of a project — design, implementation, monitoring, reporting — and can explain results with numbers and with stories. The announcement stresses the ability to build relationships with people from diverse socio-economic,
cultural and religious backgrounds, and the commitment to diversity principles. Anyone who has worked with communities in Beira and central Mozambique knows: the technical part attracts, but trust is what sustains the work.
We are also looking for someone who can work alone and meet deadlines, recognising when to ask for help; who commands qualitative and quantitative research methods, from data collection to processing and reporting; and who is genuinely willing to travel frequently to remote project areas — it is an essential part of the role, not an extra.
Few roles give you a cross-cutting view of a partner portfolio like this one: you will see how local organisations design and run projects, how international funding translates into activities on the ground, and how to build reporting that survives a donor's scrutiny.
Exposure to institutional liaison with the State and with coordination bodies adds a learning layer that people starting or consolidating a career in development rarely find in another mid-level position. For those aiming to later coordinate programs or manage NGO projects in Mozambique, it is a direct springboard.
NGO vacancies often get lost on international English-language portals — they arrive late, poorly formatted, or without clear application steps, and your CV ends up in a box with no reply. On Inademy you get the announcement organised in Portuguese: requirements, salary, deadline and application channel on a single page,
with the email subject line already written for you to copy. You keep a free profile and we let you know whenever there is news in the process — if the answer is "no" and that information reaches us, we would rather tell you than leave you waiting.
Send your CV and motivation letter (maximum one page) explaining why you are the right person for the position to scanrecruitment@mcc.org by 16 September 2026 at 5:00 pm, with the subject line:
Program Officer – Education and Peace Building (Including gender mainstreaming)
The original announcement also asks for one extra step: filling in an MCC application form, in addition to sending the email. The form is accessed through the organisation's official job announcement — confirm this detail before sending your application, because an email-only dossier may end up incomplete.
Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview — make your CV and letter count. Two reads that help: our CV guide for automatic screening systems and the step-by-step cover letter guide.
