EnergyWorks is looking for a Sales Representative in Maputo to expand its client portfolio across three service areas: ISO standards implementation, training, and environmental monitoring. This is a consultative sales role: identifying who needs to streamline their processes and working environment, demonstrating how these services solve their problems, and guiding the conversation through to a signed contract.
Why does this role require a technical background? Because decision-makers do not sign contracts based on a catalogue: they sign when they understand what they stand to gain from adopting ISO standards, and when they trust the person presenting them.
Your work begins with a clear explanation and ends with a well-negotiated deal, working alongside the team to prepare proposals. In between, your equipa is split between client contact and preparing proposals and materials.
For those unfamiliar with this field: ISO standards are international frameworks that structure how an organisation operates — from internal processes to environmental impact. Companies in Mozambique seek alignment with these standards for practical reasons: requirements from clients and partners, access to tenders, or simply to operate more efficiently. This is the market EnergyWorks serves, and where you will be working.
Selling here starts with knowing how to explain. In discussions with decision-makers, a clear demonstration is worth more than any pitch: asking "how does this help the client?" comes first, and answers about service benefits and details must be delivered with confidence. The technical element carries weight in this position — there are six demanding requirements listed, and it is worth reading all of them before applying.
If you routinely study what you sell until you can explain it to a layperson, you are already halfway there.
