Malaria Consortium is looking for a Senior Research Coordinator to strengthen its team in Maputo. This is a full-time, permanent position where you will lead the scientific output of the organisation’s projects: rigorously designed evaluations and findings that reach forums within and outside the country.
Malaria Consortium works side by side with partners to achieve a world free of malaria and its accompanying health inequalities. This builds on twenty years of evidence-driven work: scalable and sustainable solutions, alongside a collaborative, adaptable, and research-led approach in partnership with governments and local authorities, ensuring the most affected communities achieve equitable health outcomes and national health services build strength. Research is central to this journey — showing what works, for whom, and why.
This role is for someone who already conducts methodical studies and enjoys seeing evidence move off the page to reach decision-makers. One position, based in Maputo.
Your work spans three areas: research itself, technical guidance for implementing partners, and managing the resulting knowledge. In practice:
Someone who knows the Mozambican health system inside out, at both central and provincial levels, and who has led large-scale public health research: winning proposals, implemented projects, well-managed data, and reports and manuscripts that withstand rigorous review. You write clearly even on complex topics, and can design a thematic guide and conduct a qualitative interview or focus group without losing rigour.
Relationships also matter. This position relies on the connection between the organisation, the Ministry of Health, international organisations, NGOs, and community structures — and the best coordinators are those who build bridges that remain standing after the project ends. If this is how you work, you will be a natural fit.
The conditions published in the official announcement, exactly as stated:
Applications must be submitted directly on the official Malaria Consortium recruitment portal, on the Senior Research Coordinator vacancy page. Fill in the online form with your details and CV and, if you wish, you can create an account on the platform to track your application status.
Deadline: 8 September 2026, at 23:59. Please note that selection takes place on a rolling basis — the position may be filled before the closing date. Do not leave your application until the last day.
The selection process reflects the organisation’s commitment to safeguarding beneficiaries: the Code of Conduct, Safeguarding Policy, and Privacy Notice are published on the Malaria Consortium website.
Since everything takes place on an online recruitment platform, your CV carries weight from the initial screening. The guide on how to write a CV in Mozambique shows what makes a resume get read to the end, and the article on CVs for applicant tracking systems (ATS) helps adapt it for online forms like this one.
