Ipas is an international organisation working to defend sexual and reproductive health and rights, together with governments, donors and community partners, with programmes across several African countries. It has now opened a vacancy for a Program Support Director, reference R1436, to oversee programmes in Francophone and Lusophone Africa. The work is 100% remote — and Mozambique is on the list of eligible countries from which you can apply.
This is not a role managing a single office. It is a senior leadership position within the global programme support team: you will act as a strategic partner to regional and country directors, oversee between 4 and 5 programmes, and directly line-manage 3 to 5 people within those leadership teams and senior programme managers. You will report directly to the Deputy Chief Operating Officer (DCOO).
For those who have built a career in international organisations, this role combines three things that rarely come together: remote work from Mozambique, genuine influence over programme quality and direction, and a salary aligned with the market rate of your country of residence.
The formal criteria are in the requirements section. Here, what matters is the human profile: we are looking for someone with a genuine commitment to reproductive justice and the organisation’s mission, who leads by empowering others — building trust, granting autonomy to teams and taking clear accountability.
This role is for someone comfortable working remotely with multi-country teams, managing demanding donor relationships and translating programmatic challenges into practical decisions. If you have previously bridged the gap between global headquarters and field teams, this opportunity is for you.
International positions at this level rarely appear on local job boards. They are published in English on a global careers portal and close without much warning — those who do not track these portals will never know the opportunity existed.
Inademy lists the vacancy in Portuguese, highlighting key details and providing direct access to the official company portal. Create your free profile on the platform and turn on email and WhatsApp alerts — so the next international vacancy reaches your phone first.
