What you will do

As national security lead, the role reports to the Country Director of AKF-Mozambique and, operationally, to the Regional Director. There is 1 position available for this role.

The postholder directs, coordinates, and oversees the implementation of AKF-Mozambique's security standards, protocols, and other safety measures.

These actions fall within the AKDN safety and security system and the organization's duty of care towards staff, assets, operations, and reputation.

In your day-to-day work, you will have the following main responsibilities:

• Inspect, through regular checks, facilities and program implementation areas to ensure compliance with security standards and routines.
• Ensure that international visitors and national staff receive appropriate security briefings prior to or immediately upon arrival.
• In critical situations, coordinate emergency response with security authorities, emergency services, health facilities, hospitals, and other relevant providers.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments of AKF facilities and other sites where staff and visitors operate.
• Gather, validate, process, and interpret the security situation at national, regional, and local levels, maintaining an up-to-date picture of the context in operational areas.
• Promote a security culture based on prevention and shared responsibility for all.
• Develop, in coordination with leadership, the security awareness and training plan for staff.
• Monitor, together with Operations, Finance, and Procurement, security-related acquisitions.

Role structure and objectives

The role requires continuous coordination with Program, Operations, Human Resources, Finance, Procurement teams, and organizational leadership.

Ultimately, AKF must have a preventive and integrated security system that appropriately assesses risk without compromising the continuity of field programs.
